Tokyo's Flat Brown

Located in a quiet corner of Shibuya, Heart’s Light Coffee is run by the most friendly barista in Tokyo. Ready to share all the best kept secrets in Tokyo, the cheerful owner of this vinyl cafe introduced us to his new creation: Flat Brown.

 

After the first sip it was clear, I needed to know exactly how to reproduce this easy, yet astonishingly delicious drink.

Ingredients

┃ yield — 1
  • espresso
  • soy milk
  • chocolate syrup
  • cinnamon powder
  • chocolate powder

Directions

┃ ◕ — 5 mins
  1. Pull a shot of espresso with your favorite beans, for best results make a long shot (~60 ml).
  2. Add the chocolate syrup to the coffee and mix until fully dissolved.
  3. Pour foamy heated soy milk, and top with chocolate a cinnamon powder to taste.
